PRIVACY POLICY

At CAT – Caroline Alves Translations, your privacy comes first.

Data use: The information you provide (name, email, WhatsApp, documents) is used exclusively for quoting, executing, and delivering the contracted services.

Confidentiality: All material received is handled with complete confidentiality. Documents are stored securely and are never shared with third parties without your authorization.

Retention period: We keep copies of files for up to 90 days after delivery, for support and possible adjustments. After this period, they are permanently deleted from our systems.

Communication: We may contact you through email or WhatsApp only regarding the services you have contracted.

Data rights: You may request the deletion of your data at any time, in accordance with Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD – Law No. 13.709/2018).

TERMS OF SERVICE

By hiring CAT – Caroline Alves Translations, you agree to the terms below:

– Services provided: Translation, revision, and auxiliary services as described in the quote or proposal sent to you.

– Deadlines: Provided in advance and respected as agreed, except for exceptional circumstances communicated beforehand.

– Pricing and payments: Defined in the approved quote. Payments may be requested partially (advance) or in full, depending on
the volume and complexity of the work.

– Urgent requests: Urgent jobs may include an additional fee of 25% to 50%.

– Copyright: The delivered translation is for the exclusive use of the hiring client. CAT retains only the right to use excerpts as examples (never including sensitive information), and only if authorized by the client.

– Limitation of liability: CAT is not responsible for the improper use of translations outside the context informed by the client (e.g., documents presented to authorities without the proper validation required).

CANCELLATION, REFUND & REVISION POLICY

1. Cancellation

– Cancellation without cost is possible only if requested before the work begins. If the translation is already in progress, a proportional fee may apply according to the volume already translated.
Urgent requests may include an additional fee of 25% to 50%.

2. Refunds

– Full refunds are only applicable in exceptional situations, such as proven failure in execution or breach of the previously agreed conditions.
– Once the work is delivered, refunds are not possible, as translation is an intellectual and personalized service.

3. Corrections / Adjustments

– The client has 5 calendar days after delivery to request corrections.
– Corrections cover linguistic adjustments or fidelity issues, when justified.
– Changes in style, specific terminology not previously informed, or additional requests outside the initial scope will be considered extra adjustments and may require a new quote.
– After the established deadline, the translation is considered accepted, and further revisions must be contracted separately.
